Our Story

I’m Kyle, the owner of Flow Construction, and my journey into the world of building began at a young age. At just four years old, I was gifted a screwdriver set, and from that moment, my curiosity ignited. I was the kid who pulled apart anything with screws, driven by a desire to understand how things worked. This hands-on approach shaped my childhood, as I spent countless hours outdoors, exploring and creating.

By the time I turned 16, I realised that my future lay in construction. I left school to embark on a building apprenticeship, diving headfirst into the trade. Working alongside seasoned builders, I learned the intricacies of the craft, and my passion for creating homes flourished.

That same passion for hands-on work is what led my business partner, Tim Anderson, into the trade as well. Born and raised on a farm in the rural town of Rerewhakaaitu, Tim was always keen to tackle anything outdoors. Whether it was riding motorbikes, racing downhill mountain bikes, or helping out on the farm, he thrived on practical challenges. At 16, he decided to pursue building to develop skills that would serve him for life.

Tim and I first crossed paths when we worked for the same construction company. Over two years, we realised we shared not only a strong work ethic but also a vision for how a building company should operate—one that prioritised quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and a great work culture. With that in mind, we took the leap and started Flow Construction.

As a father, I understand the importance of creating a safe and beautiful space for families. Tim and I are passionate about delivering high-quality new builds and extensions that reflect the unique visions of our clients. With over 20 projects completed in the past 2.5 years, we’re dedicated to bringing dreams to life in Rotorua.
